Police searching for car of man fatally shot in east valley

Police are trying to locate the car of a man they say was shot to death Wednesday morning in the east valley.

Officers reported about 10:40 a.m. to a home in the 5200 block of Crater Circle, near Boulder Highway, after receiving a report of an injured elderly man, police said.

They found a man dead in the home.

It was originally believed he was stabbed to death, but it was later determined he was shot, police said.

The identity of the deceased man, as well as his official cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators do not yet know the motive behind the shooting, police said.

Police are searching for the man’s silver 2013 Cadillac ATS, which has either Nevada plates of USZ990 or Arizona plates of AR4204, police said.

This is the 76th homicide this year investigated by Metro Police.
