A woman who died after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday afternoon in the east valley has been identified as 40-year-old Gayle Renee Menzie, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.
Officers were called about 3 p.m. to Boulder Highway near Sandhill Road, where Menzie was struck by a northbound 2005 Chevy Silverado, according to Metro Police.
Menzie, whose city of residence was not immediately available, was crossing Boulder Highway outside a marked crosswalk, police said.
She was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The official cause and manner of Menzie's death are still pending, the Coroner's Office said.
The 38-year-old Sacramento man driving the pickup stayed on scene, and northbound Boulder Highway was closed in the area during the investigation, police said.
