Coroner IDs woman, 27, killed in rollover on U.S. 95 offramp

A 27-year-old woman killed early Sunday in a rollover crash on the U.S. 95 southbound offramp at Valley View Boulevard has been identified as Las Vegas resident Nekia Ann Morgan, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Morgan, who died of blunt chest trauma in the accident, was headed south on the ramp about 3:30 a.m. in a black Ford Expedition when she lost control and overcorrected, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

The car flipped over in a gravel area north of the ramp, and Morgan was partially ejected, according to the highway patrol.

She was not wearing a seat belt, officials said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 46-year-old man in the vehicle was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.

Two women and one man who were also passengers were not seriously injured.

This is the 45th fatal crash investigated by Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command this year.
