Las Vegas man who died near site of reported domestic disturbance ID’d

A 35-year-old man who died after being found badly injured outside east valley home Sunday afternoon has been identified as Las Vegas resident Steve Medrano, the Clark County Coroner's Office reported.

Medrano died of blunt force abdominal trauma and internal bleeding, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Police dispatchers received a report of a domestic disturbance about 5:40 p.m. at a house in the 300 block of Martha Street, near North Lamb Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, according to Metro Police.

Juan Medrano, 32, was arrested Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, in connection with an apparent homicide at an east Las Vegas Valley residence.

Medrano was found unresponsive, and his vehicle was missing, police said.

Officers and family tried to assist him until he was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

One of Medrano's relatives, Juan Medrano, 32, was arrested about 3:40 a.m. Monday near the 3700 block of Boulder Highway with the vehicle.

The exact relationship between the two men has not been disclosed, but police said they both lived at the house and were believed to have argued before Steve Medrano was found.

Juan Medrano was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a count of first-degree murder and one count of possession of a stolen vehicle, police said.

He is being held without bail, jail records show.
