A Clark County School District elementary school teacher was arrested Tuesday after reports emerged that he battered a student, according to a school district spokeswoman.
James Doran, a teacher at Forbuss Elementary School at 8601 S. Grand Canyon Drive, near Fort Apache and Blue Diamond roads, faces three counts of misdemeanor battery, according to court records and CCSD spokeswoman Melinda Malone.
Although he is still technically employed by the school district, Doran is barred from visiting the school and is not actively working, Malone said.
He has been employed by the district since August 2014, she said.
Records show $1,000 bond was posted, and Doran is scheduled to be arraigned 8:30 a.m. Thursday in Las Vegas Justice Court.
