Las Vegas police called to three shootings in six-hour period

Metro Police responded to several separate shootings Tuesday night and early this morning around the valley.

A 34-year-old man was hit in the leg Tuesday evening in an apparent drive-by shooting in the 1300 block of West Bartlett Avenue, near North Martin Luther King Boulevard and West Carey Avenue, police said.

Police were called about the shooting about 7:40 p.m. and found the victim after arriving at the scene. He was taken to University Medical Center, where his condition was not disclosed.

Two houses were also hit in the shooting, Lt. David Gordon said.

A few hours later, police dispatchers received a call of shots fired at a northeast valley apartment building in the 4700 block of Cleopatra Avenue, near Las Vegas Boulevard North and North Lamb Boulevard, according to Metro.

A 55-year-old with a gunshot wound was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition after the shooting, which was reported just before midnight.

Police said there were 11 people, including adults and juveniles, inside the home at the time of the shooting. The suspect and motive have not yet been determined.

About 1:20 a.m., Metro officers were called to a shooting in the 3600 block of Paradise Road, near East Twain Avenue, police said.

A 35-year-old man was shot in the midsection and transported to the Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in unknown condition, police said.

Investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.
