A Clark County School District high school teacher was arrested last week on a count of engaging in a sexual act with a pupil, according to jail records.
Kristy Kay Yegge, a teacher at Veterans Tribute Career & Technical Academy, was booked Thursday into the Clark County Detention Center on a count of engaging in a sexual act with a student between 16 and 17 years old, arrest records show.
Yegge was hired by the school district in 2003 and has been assigned to home, meaning she will not be teaching classes pending the outcome of the investigation, district spokeswoman Melinda Malone said.
Yegge is an emergency medical services coordinator/instructor as well as an adviser to the HOSA-Future Health Professionals group and the American Red Cross club, according to a page removed from the school's website.
The Clark County District Attorney's Office has not yet filed charges, according to the Las Vegas Justice Court.
