Man pronounced dead after minivan hits block wall

Updated Monday, Dec. 14, 2015 | 10:21 a.m.

A 50-year-old Henderson man was pronounced dead Sunday night after the minivan he was driving ran into a block wall at the intersection of Jay Sarno Way and Frank Sinatra Drive, according to Metro Police.

The van, west on Jay Sarno about 8:40 p.m., was at a red traffic signal when it went through the T intersection from a stop and hit the wall about 25 to 30 mph, police said.

The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Clark County Coroner's Office identified him as Dominic F. Savelio.

It’s possible Savelio suffered a medical episode, and the Coroner’s Office is investigating the death, police said.
