Metro Police seeks 2 suspected of tricking convenience store clerks

Metro Police seek two women wanted for burglary and obtaining money under false pretenses at multiple convenience stores.

Also according to police:

The women are white and ages 20-30. One is between 5 feet, 6 inches and 6 feet with a heavy build and brown hair. The other is between 5 feet and 5 feet, 4 inches with a thin build and reddish hair.

The investigation indicates that a man calls convenience stores ahead of time posing as a corporate supervisor conducting an audit of store finances.

The man directs an employee to remove money from the register and safe and count it. He then instructs the employee to give the money to a woman when she enters the store so she can audit the money elsewhere, and that the employee will lose their job if they do not comply.

The two women have entered various stores separately and taken the money, which was not returned.

Anyone with knowledge as to the identity or whereabouts of these suspects is asked to contact the LVMPD Financial Crimes Section by phone at 702-828-3285. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 702-385-5555.
