Henderson Police have released video of a police dog biting a one-year-old girl nearly a year after it happened.
A police dash camera recorded Henderson officers searching the vehicle of a man they suspected of being involved in a robbery. An officer can be heard saying that there is an infant in the car.
Then the video shows Sgt. James Mitchell releasing his dog, a Belgian Malinois, to check the SUV. The dog bit 17-month old Ayleen Arenas, leaving nine small puncture wounds on her right arm.
Henderson Police Chief Patrick Moers said in a statement that the dog may have been used too quickly and officers could have communicated better. Police officials say Mitchell voluntarily left the K-9 unit for the patrol division.
