A Clark County School District custodian accused of leaving bodily fluids on a teacher’s personal items at an elementary school pleaded guilty today in Las Vegas Justice Court to two counts of open and gross lewdness.

Michael Timothy Skelton, 42, waived a preliminary hearing and faces up to 364 days in jail on each gross misdemeanor count. He also would have to register as a sex offender.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to sign a plea agreement.

On Dec. 4, a teacher at Dondero Elementary School, 4450 Ridgeville St., near Jones Boulevard and Harmon Avenue, noticed fluids on items in the classroom, according to a Metro Police report.

Police placed hidden cameras in the classroom and, less than a week later, videotaped Skelton masturbating with the lights off in the empty classroom, the report said. He was arrested on Dec. 14.

He admitted to several dozen similar episodes since the beginning of the school year, police said. He said he did it because he found the teacher attractive, the report said.

Skelton is a “floater” custodian not assigned to a permanent school and does not interact with students, School District Police Sgt. Mitch Maciszak said earlier this month.

Skelton has been suspended from his job without pay. He was being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
