Police: Man shot after knocking on door at house

A man was shot in the leg this morning in the northwest valley, but the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, Metro Police said.

Police received a report just before 8:30 a.m. of a man shot in the 6200 block of Robin Hood Circle, near North Jones Boulevard and West Smoke Ranch Road, Officer Laura Meltzer said.

The man told police he went to the house, knocked on the door and was shot by someone apparently in the house, Meltzer said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening, she said.

No one else was injured.

The man’s relationship with the residents of the house was unclear, she said.

Violent crimes detectives are investigating the case.
