Teska resigns as head of Nevada Department of Administration

CARSON CITY — Julia Teska, director of the Nevada Department of Administration, the agency that prepares the state budget, is resigning. She is the third executive to leave the job during the administration of Gov. Brian Sandoval.

Teska is leaving at the end of the month to join her family in Colorado.

Sandoval today named Jim Wells as interim director effective March 2. Wells is executive director of the state’s Public Employees Benefit Program.

Teska was appointed director of the Department of Administration in March 2014. She was a deputy director before that.
