Bones found in a bag at a downtown elementary school appear to have come from an animal, Metro Police said.
Someone reported the find about 12:30 p.m. to school police at Howard Hollingsworth Elementary, 1776 E. Ogden Ave., Metro Police Officer Jesse Roybal said.
Officials were initially unsure if the bones came from a human, animal or if they were even real.
The bones were determined to be animal remains, and officers left the scene about 2:30 p.m., Metro Police Officer Laura Meltzer said.
No details were available about exactly where the bones were found on the school property.
