Fight disrupts rivalry basketball game at Henderson high school

Foothill High

Fighting erupted in the stands of a high school basketball game Wednesday night in Henderson, prematurely ending the rivalry game.

The incident occurred about 8:40 p.m. between fans of Basic High School and host Foothill High School, located at 800 College Drive, Clark County School District Police Capt. Ken Young said.

The altercation began in the stands, and the fighting was carried out into the parking lot area, school district officials said.

No students were involved in the initial fight or suspended as a result of the fight, CCSD spokeswoman Michelle Booth said.

Officials cleared the auditorium, and Henderson Police were also on scene, Young said.

Despite reports that someone had a gun at the scene, Young said no gun was involved in the incident and no shots were fired.

No one was arrested, but CCSD Police did issue disturbance and other citations, Young said.
