A Las Vegas man fatally shot at his southwest valley house early today had been arguing with an acquaintance before shots were fired, Metro Police said.

Police are now looking for that acquaintance, identified as 30-year old Julio Rodriguez, and say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police were called about 4:45 a.m. to a house in the 6400 block of Gunderson Boulevard, near South Torrey Pines Drive and West Harmon Avenue.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was in his garage when Rodriguez drove up in front of the house, police said. The victim approached the vehicle and the two got into a verbal altercation, police said.

Rodriguez displayed a handgun, and multiple shots were fired as the victim ran from the vehicle, police said.

Rodriguez and another man on the passenger side of the vehicle fled the scene, police said.

Rodriguez is described as about 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 170 pounds with brown eyes and close-cropped dark hair.

The vehicle involved is a black 1999 Mercedes Benz SUV with large chrome rims and tinted windows, police said. It has unknown California license plates.

Anyone with information about Rodriguez’s whereabouts is urged to call Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
