A woman hospitalized this morning after being mauled by a pack of dogs in the east Las Vegas Valley could lose an eye and possibly one of her arms, Metro Police said.

The woman, who is in her mid-60s, and a 65-year-old man were hospitalized after they were attacked by a pack of dogs about 9:40 a.m. in the 900 block of Looking Glass Lane, near Sloan Lane and Bonanza Road, police said.

The man suffered severe dog bites to his right hand, Metro Lt. Mark Reddon said.

The man and woman were taken to University Medical Center.

Officer Miguel Garcia said one of the dogs was shot by police, but officials could not say immediately whether the animal was killed or how many dogs were in the pack.
