Man dies after being run over outside Henderson casino

A Las Vegas man who was dropped off at the main entrance of a Boulder Highway casino last week and then struck by a car has died, according to Henderson Police.

The man, 78, was dropped off by his nephew at the Jokers Wild Casino, 920 N. Boulder Hwy., on Feb. 18. As the nephew left to park, he noticed the man on the ground and exited the car to assist him, police said. Because the car wasn't in park, it rolled backward and pinned the man, who was taken to Sunrise Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.

Later, Henderson Police were notified that the man died on Feb. 21 as a result of injuries suffered in the incident.

Police say foul play is not suspected, but the case remains under investigation.
