Police seek suspect after he shot man in foot during argument

Metro Police are searching for a man they say is a suspect in a Thursday night shooting near downtown.

Officers were called about 7:15 p.m. to the scene in the 1400 block of East Charleston Boulevard, near 14th Street, where a man was shot in the foot, police said.

The suspect and the man were in a strip mall parking lot when they began to argue, and the suspect fired one shot, police said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center with injuries believed to be nonlife-threatening and is in stable condition, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man about 5-feet-10-inches tall with a medium build. He is believed to be in his mid-30s and was accompanied by a boy believed to be 7 to 8 years old, police said.
