Coroner IDs couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide

A couple who died in what police believe was a murder-suicide Tuesday night have been identified as 50-year-old Joseph Anthony Norton and 46-year-old Noelia Jesus Norton, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

The husband and wife were found dead by officers about 10 p.m. at a house in the 6000 block of Glimmering Light Avenue, near South Jones Boulevard and West Wigwam Avenue, Metro Police said.

A 911 dispatcher, who received a call from the home, reported hearing an argument between the couple as well as gunshots, police said.

Patrol officers, SWAT and crisis negotiators responded, and when attempts to contact the residents failed, officers entered the house, police said.

Police believe Anthony Norton, whose death was ruled a suicide, shot Noelia Jesus Norton before killing himself.

Noelia Jesus Norton died of multiple gunshot wounds, and Joseph Anthony Norton died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Coroner’s Office said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
