Police officers arrested nine drivers suspected of driving under the influence during a three-week enforcement campaign that ended January 5, according to a press release.
In addition to the arrests, officers handed out 61 speeding tickets and seven red light tickets. Additional tickets were issued for lack of insurance, as well as vehicle registration violations and expired, revoked or suspended driver's licenses.
Drunk driving accounted for 74 deaths on Nevada roadways last year. More than half occurred in Clark County, and 13 were in Henderson.
Funded by a grant from the Department of Public Safety, Henderson Police were assisted by Metro Police and Mesquite Police in deploying saturation patrols to search the area.
