A Las Vegas man died this morning near Interstate 15 and Silverado Ranch Boulevard after his BMW spun out of control and hit a traffic light.
Justin Michael Delos Santos, 29, was exiting southbound I-15 near Silverado Ranch at a high rate of speed around 2 a.m. when his white, four-door BMW began to rotate clockwise, according to officials.
The BMW struck a traffic light on the driver's side and then spun counterclockwise, coming to rest in the center median, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixon. Delos Santos was pronounced dead at the scene.
Silverado Ranch was closed in both directions until about 6 a.m., according to Hixon.
No one else was injured and no other vehicles were damaged in the accident.
The Clark County Coroner's Office will determine the cause of death.
