A gas-like odor led to an evacuation at a Cox Communications building this morning, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.

At 10:55 a.m., crews received calls about a gas smell on the second floor of the building at 1700 Vegas Drive, near Martin Luther King Boulevard, spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

Firefighters arrived and shut off the gas.

It turned out, however, the issue was "related to a sewer gas odor in the second-floor hallway," Cox spokesman Juergen Barbusca said. Facilities teams poured water down the drains and cleared up the odor, he said.
