Letter to the Editor:

God wants people to help others

In response to the Dec. 25 letter “God would have been a Democrat,” God would not have been a Democrat nor a Republican.

Luke 20:25 says, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things which are God’s.”

God does not want the government to help the less fortunate. He wants you, me and every other human on Earth to help those who need it. See Matthew Chapter 25.

Can you or I heal the sick? I’m not a doctor, so I can’t, but I can take someone to the doctor. Can I heal the blind? No, but I can buy them glasses. Can I feed the hungry? Yes, and so can you and many other people. Can I clothe the naked? Yes, and I bet you can too.

Each one of us should be helping our neighbor. I have read the New Testament; the message is for God’s children to help one another.

Every person on Earth can do something to help or ease the suffering of another person. That is what God wants.

By serving other people, we bless their lives and ours as well. That’s the message of the New Testament.
