Police suspect murder-suicide in deaths of man, woman in northwest valley

Police investigating the deaths of a husband and wife found inside a Las Vegas home suspect the wife shot and killed her husband with a handgun before killing herself.

Metro Police visited the house on the 6200 block of Elton Avenue near Jones Boulevard just south of U.S. 95 on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a report that two people inside were dead.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates the couple died in a murder-suicide.

The Clark County Coroner's Office is expected to release the couple's names.

Police say it marks the 57th homicide in the Las Vegas area this year.
