Las Vegas man shot, killed in apparent murder-suicide ID’d

The man who was found dead in his home with his wife in an apparent murder-suicide was identified Saturday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Gregory Russell, 49, of Las Vegas died of a gunshot wound to the face. Coroners ruled his death a homicide.

Russell and his wife, Paula, 61, were found Wednesday in a house in the 6200 block of Elton Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and U.S. 95, according to Metro Police.

Police said Paula Russell, who was identified Thursday, fatally shot her husband with a handgun, then turned the weapon on herself.

Her cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and was ruled a suicide, according to the coroner’s office.
