Teen is critical after being pulled from swimming pool in western valley

A teenage boy was taken to the hospital Tuesday night after he was found unconscious in a Spring Valley swimming pool, Metro Police said.

Police responded about 6:20 p.m. to the 3500 block of Hauck Street, near Spring Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard, Lt. Bruce Miyama said.

The boy, 16, was with friends and family when they noticed him floating and unconscious and called for help, Miyama said. Medical personnel performed CPR, but the boy never regained consciousness.

The boy was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition.

Officers are investigating the incident, but there are no initial signs of foul play, Miyama said.
