Police nab 3 home-burglary suspects after they were caught on video

Three people were arrested in connection with a burglary that was recorded by surveillance equipment Monday at a southwest valley house, according to Metro Police.

Metro detectives arrested 26-year-old Sergio Ochoa, 24-year-old Caleb Smith and 22-year-old Tara Tatum on one count each of conspiracy to commit burglary and booked them into Clark County jail, police said.

Ochoa, who is being held on $22,000 bail, also faces one count of burglary with a gun, and Smith faces a count of burglary, according to jail records and police.

Smith is being held on $12,000 bail, and Tatum is being held on $2,000 bail, according to jail records.

Officers responded Monday in the 8000 block of Bonaventure Drive, near Buffalo Drive and Tropicana Avenue, where a residential burglary was reported, police said.

Video surveillance equipment in the house captured the incident, and the footage was circulated on social media.

Detectives made the arrests after receiving tips from the public regarding the case, police said.
