Man arrested on attempted murder count in Henderson stabbing

A 39-year-old man was arrested today on a count of attempted murder in the stabbing of a man Monday afternoon in Henderson, police said.

Eric Jonathan Nelson was taken into custody without incident about 3:45 a.m. today in the 300 block of Regina Way, Henderson Police said.

The victim was offered a ride by a friend and Nelson, police said. When they arrived at a home in the 100 block of Magnesium Street, Nelson stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife, police said.

The victim, who did not know Nelson, ran to a friend’s home, and the friend called 911, police said. The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with serious injuries, police said. His condition was not available.

Nelson was being held at the Henderson Detention Center.
