Man jumped in front of car near Strip, police say

A man was hospitalized after jumping in front of a car near the Las Vegas Strip this morning, according to Metro Police.

Police were called about 8 a.m. to the area near Sahara Avenue and Santa Paula Drive, located near Las Vegas Boulevard, Officer Michael Rodriguez said.

The man jumped in front of a sedan and was bleeding from the head, but he was able to get up, Rodriguez said.

He was taken to University Medical Center in unknown condition, he said.

A citation was issued in the incident, but it was not immediately clear who received it or what type of citation it was, Rodriguez said.

Police were able to leave the scene about 9:55 a.m., he said.
