Contrary to most opinion pieces one hears and reads lately, it is my view that Donald John Trump Sr. is just what the Republican Party needs to help cull pretenders from its overcrowded clown car.
Why not have the biggest barker since P.T. Barnum suck the air out of the news cycle? Who wants to hear from any of the other 15 candidates, and counting, now that we have the biggest blowhard of the bunch pontificating all things Trump with that delightful, nasal Queens accent? The Donald has put his party on notice and on edge with his unique brand of political commentary. Most candidates now are in the position of responding to his biting comments.
Are all immigrants from Mexico rapists and murderers? Of course not. Do we have a problem controlling the flow? Absolutely. The candidates who best handle Trump will better handle Hillary Clinton.
Trump will never win the Republican nomination, but his entry will help expose the weak and unwilling Republican candidates who seem meek while saying very little. You go, Donald.
