1 dead, 1 wounded in shooting at apartment complex

One man was killed and another wounded in a Saturday shooting after an argument broke out at an east valley apartment complex, according to Metro Police.

Officers went to Sunrise Hospital about 10:50 p.m. Saturday after one of the men called 911. He said the pair were headed to the hospital on Maryland Parkway after being shot, police said.

One of the men was pronounced dead at the hospital from multiple gunshot wounds, and the other suffered a gunshot wound that did not appear life threatening, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased man as 28-year-old Daniel Edward Santillano and said he died of gunshot wounds of the torso.

The men were involved in an argument with two other men at an apartment complex east of Boulder Highway, and one of the suspects fired at the victims with a handgun, police said.

Information on the exact location of the shooting and the motive were not available.

No arrests have been made.

Police described one of the suspects as a black man about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants with a short afro.

The other suspect was a black man about 6-feet-4-inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and black pants.

This was the 58th homicide investigated by Metro this year, police said.
