Boil order lifted; water safe to drink again in Laughlin

Residents of Laughlin are once again able to use their water without inconvenience after the boil order has been lifted.

Testing by the Las Vegas Valley Water District found that water going to Laughlin residents once again meets safe drinking-water standards. The order was lifted Tuesday afternoon after four days.

Water district officials suggested homeowners flush their home plumbing systems as an added precaution before returning to normal water use.

Storm conditions during the weekend made the Colorado River, which supplies Laughlin's drinking water, murky from floods Saturday. Water District officials handed out cases of bottled water while the issue was being resolved.
