Las Vegas man dies after motorcycle crash

A Las Vegas man injured Sunday night when the motorcycle he was riding ran off Charleston Boulevard and crashed has died, Metro Police said.

The wreck happened about 6:45 p.m. as 48-year-old Mark Allen Drozd was headed east on Charleston, west of Sky vista Drive, and ran onto the dirt and gravel shoulder, police said. The Harley-Davidson overturned and the rider was thrown from the bike, police said.

He was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead about 3:45 a.m., according to the Clark County Coroner's Office and police.

The crash remains under investigation. It is the 57th traffic death investigated by Metro this year.
