St. Rose Dominican Hospitals — Siena Campus is hosting an open house Saturday to show off its new five-story tower.
The preview party will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Henderson hospital, 3001 St. Rose Parkway. Geared for the whole family, it will include free food-truck refreshments, a farmers' market, tours of the tower, health screenings, back-to-school immunizations and photos with UNLV's Hey Reb.
The new tower, set to be fully operational in the fall, features a doubled-in-size emergency room and an additional 96 private in-patient rooms, bringing the hospital's bed total to 326. The 220,000-sqare-foot expansion also includes 56 emergency bays, six new operating suites, separate entrances for cardiology and cardiovascular services and extra space for services such as admitting, nutrition, radiology, the lab and pharmacy.
The hospital plans to start using the new emergency room in mid-August.
