A defense lawyer said Friday he'll seek bail for a former volunteer Las Vegas police Explorer facing multiple felony charges including lewdness, child sexual assault and kidnapping involving an underage schoolgirl.

A Las Vegas judge reset a bail hearing for Tuesday for 22-year-old Joshua Honea.

Prosecutor Stacey Kollins says Honea may face additional charges at that time.

Attorney Garrett Ogata said outside court that Honea plans to plead not guilty.

Honea is accused of beginning a longtime relationship with the girl while he was an 18-year-old Explorer scout and counselor at her middle school.

Authorities say the girl was under 14, and in sixth grade.

Honea is being held without bail at the Clark County jail.

He could face life in prison if convicted of kidnapping and child sex assault.
