A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital tonight in unknown condition after a crash on West Sahara Avenue near Interstate 15, according to Metro Police.

The man driving the motorcycle was headed east on Sahara about 7:30 p.m. when a van exited an apartment complex in the 2800 block of Sahara and pulled in front of him, Lt. Michael Mauntel said.

The motorcyclist hit the driver's side of the van and was taken to University Medical Center with unknown injuries, he said.

Sahara was closed to traffic in both directions between Teddy Drive and Richfield Boulevard, he said.

None of the occupants of the van, which included two adults and five children, was injured.
