Boy, 14, hit by SUV in North Las Vegas dies at hospital

A 14-year-old boy hit by a sport utility vehicle on Thursday died over the weekend at University Medical Center, according to North Las Vegas Police.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the teen today as Dyvionte Cromwell. He died Saturday, police said.

Cromwell was attempting to cross Martin Luther King Boulevard at an angle near Watercreek Drive about 4 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by the Nissan SUV, police said. Cromwell was outside a marked crosswalk, police said.

The driver remained at scene and was not injured, police said. Speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors, but the investigation is ongoing, police said.
