A man who fled Virginia and is wanted in connection with the attempted abduction of a woman in Knoxville, Tenn., was arrested in downtown Las Vegas early this morning, according to Metro and Knoxville police.

Michael Green, 40, was arrested about 1:20 a.m. near Hoover Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South and booked at Clark County jail in connection with a fugitive warrant from Tennessee on a count of aggravated kidnapping, authorities said.

Green and an accomplice attempted to abduct a 20-year-old woman June 5 in Knoxville in the parking lot of a shopping center, Knoxville Police Department representative Darrell DeBusk said.

The woman screamed and other shoppers came to her aid, DeBusk said. Green and his alleged accomplice, 38-year-old Bobby Keeney, fled the scene, Knoxville Police said.

Metro Police arrested Green after receiving a call from a female saying she was being held against her will at a motel in Las Vegas, DeBusk said.

The female escaped, and Metro Police arrested Green after a brief foot pursuit, DeBusk said said.

Green is not yet facing any charges stemming from the Las Vegas incident, Metro Police Officer Michael Rodriguez said.

Green is also a wanted fugitive in Virginia, where a court ordered him to participate in a home-monitoring system that included the use of an ankle bracelet in connection with an unrelated case, DeBusk said.

Green cut off the bracelet and fled, later ending up in Knoxville, DeBusk said. He said it has not yet been determined if Green will be extradited to Virginia or Tennessee first.

Keeney was located Thursday in Tarrant County, Texas, and is facing a count of aggravated kidnapping, DeBusk said. The extradition process to have Kenney returned to Tennessee is underway, he said.
