A 4-year-old boy who was rescued after falling into a backyard swimming pool Tuesday has died, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Officials identified the boy as Caiden Walsh.

The child was discovered in the pool about 7 p.m. at a home near Water Street and Atlantic Avenue, Henderson Police spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

The boy was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospitals — De Lima Campus, where he died today, she said.

Henderson police spokeswoman Michelle French notes that five other children have nearly drowned in the city so far this year.

She reminded residents to check door alarms and pool barriers among other preventative measures as summer heats up.
