Police: Bicyclist critically injured in hit-and-run crash

A 52-year-old bicyclist was in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash in the northeast valley Friday night, according to Metro Police.

The bicyclist was crossing Las Vegas Boulevard at Cheyenne Avenue in a marked crosswalk about 11:30 p.m. when she was hit by an unidentified vehicle, police said. The woman, Theresa Melissa Norfolk of Las Vegas, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The driver continued north on Las Vegas Boulevard with the woman’s black mountain bike lodged under the front of the vehicle, police said.

The bike was left in a desert lot near Walnut Road, on the north side of Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
