Hockey player Jarret Stoll of the L.A. Kings has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance in connection with an April 17 incident at the Wet Republic Ultra Pool at MGM Grand, according to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office.

A criminal complaint was filed in court this morning charging Stoll with felony possession of cocaine, according to a copy of the complaint provided by the District Attorney’s Office.

Stoll, 32, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. April 17 after a voluntary pat-down at the entrance of the pool, according to an arrest report.

A security guard found plastic bags containing off-white powder and gel caps in a back pocket of Stoll’s swim shorts, the report said. Police believed the substances to be cocaine and the narcotic MDMA, the report said.

The results of drug testing on the gel caps were not immediately available.

Tess Driver, an executive assistant with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, said District Attorney Steve Wolfson was not commenting on evidence in the case.

Stoll was released on his own recognizance later that night, police said.

He is expected to appear in court 8:30 a.m. July 1, according to court records.

If convicted, he could face from one to four years in prison, though he could also be placed on probation with restrictions, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
