Prentice Marshall appears in court at the Regional Justice Center Monday, June 9, 2014. Marshall is one of the men accused of killing Las Vegas police officer Trevor Nettleton in 2009.

A man who had faced the death penalty in the slaying of an off-duty Metro Police officer in November 2009 has pleaded guilty in exchange for life without parole.

The Clark County District Attorney's office confirmed Monday that 24-year-old Prentice Marshall pleaded guilty to eight felonies including murder and robbery for his role in the shooting death of 30-year-old Trevor Nettleton at the officer's North Las Vegas home.

Marshall is expected to be formally sentenced in August.

Co-defendant Saul Williams Jr. still faces a death penalty trial scheduled to start Sept. 8.

Two of Marshall's other co-defendants pleaded guilty to lesser charges in 2012. Two others were sentenced to state prison for being accessories to the crime.
