A man was injured in a shooting this afternoon in the west valley, Metro Police said.
Police received multiple calls about 2 p.m. of a person shot in the 5900 block of Smoke Ranch Road, near North Jones Boulevard, Officer Laura Meltzer said.
The man was taken to University Medical Center; his condition was not immediately available, Meltzer said.
A possible suspect was detained, she said.
