A bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run accident late Friday has been identified as Jeffrey Robert Gonzales, 33, of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Gonzales was crossing Sahara Avenue at Mohawk Street about 11:40 p.m. when he was hit by a 2008 Hyundai Accent headed west on Sahara, according to Metro Police.
He was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver of the Hyundai left west on Sahara, but 40-year-old Abraham Lebron Jr. of Las Vegas turned himself in a short time later, police said.
He was arrested on counts of driving under the influence and duty to stop at the scene of an accident, police said.
