State investigating fetuses in Las Vegas hospital laundry

Nevada state health officials are investigating after two dead babies were discovered by workers at a laundry facility as they were cleaning linens from a Las Vegas hospital.

The Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance is currently investigating the case, which was reported to police Tuesday by the medical laundry company Angelica in Henderson.

A state spokeswoman said in an email that findings will be released.

A Spring Valley Hospital spokeswoman said the fetuses were from a miscarriage. A woman about 16 weeks into her pregnancy arrived by ambulance with the dead twins already wrapped in linens.

The hospital declined further comment but has said it has the remains and is working with the family.

Police and the coroner's office said they are no longer investigating.
