Two Republican assemblymen make up after altercation

A Las Vegas assemblyman who accused a fellow Republican of trying to intimidate him after he voted against a controversial education bill says the pair have patched things up.

Assemblyman John Moore, who leveled the accusation Tuesday, and Majority Leader Paul Anderson issued a joint statement today saying emotions “got the better of them” and that they had worked things out.

They said the would not “let one moment ruin a good personal and working relationship,” according to the statement.

Moore filed a complaint Tuesday with legislative police accusing Anderson of confronting him about his vote and telling the freshman lawmaker that “nobody is going to support you, you are done, dead, you’re finished.”

In his complaint, Moore said he asked Anderson, “Are you trying to intimidate me, threaten me?” Anderson replied, yes, according to the complaint.

Moore said he pushed Anderson aside and told him to never “try to threaten or try to intimidate me ever again,” according to the complaint.

Anderson did not comment on the flap itself.

The altercation came after Moore refused to support a school bond bill that included a controversial prevailing wage section.
