Motorcyclist dies after collision with car at Windmill and Paradise

The motorcyclist who was in critical condition after colliding with a car in the southeast part of the valley Friday has died, Metro Police said today.

Gary Stahl, 64, of Las Vegas was pronounced dead by medical personnel at Sunrise Hospital at 9:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

Stahl was traveling east in the middle lane of Windmill Parkway, approaching the intersection with Paradise Road, about 7:50 a.m. Friday when a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro making a left turn from a stop sign on Paradise turned onto westbound Windmill and entered his travel path, police said.

Stahl swerved in an attempt to avoid the Chevrolet, but the front of his 2015 Harley-Davidson hit the front of the car, causing him to eject from his motorcycle and land on the road, police said.

Police do not believe impaired driving was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

This is the 26th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
