Kill concealed carry bills

Do we now live in a society where a majority of citizens feel the need to be protected from everything all of the time, no matter the consequences? If so, something is very wrong with the society.

There is no perfect solution when it comes to safety — personal, financial or otherwise. If we have devolved into a society whereby we so distrust those we have empowered to protect us, we will over time begin to look like Iraq and Syria. Many Americans will say this can’t be so. But yes, it can. Just think back to our own civil war.

The continual passing of laws that can lead to even more lawlessness is not the answer. Those who would do harm — be it personal mayhem, financial or otherwise — cannot be easily fettered by the average citizen. Pass laws that will further strengthen our society’s oversight and enforcement and spend less time proffering a gunfight at the not-so-O.K. Corral. When three or more do-gooders engage in a gunfight at the local mall, who is the bad guy and who is the innocent? “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.” This was true in the past, and it is still true today.

Kill concealed carry bills AB 148 and AB 167 before these misguided bills kill more of us.
