51s sweep Reno, extend win streak to 10 games

The Las Vegas 51s are making it look easy.

Wilfredo Tovar’s two-run double today broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning against the visiting Reno Aces, helping Las Vegas extend its Pacific Coast League-best winning streak to 10 games in a 5-2 victory.

Not only did the 51s (16-8) sweep the four-game series with Reno, they finished the eight-game homestand without losing for the first time since July 2007.

A crowd of 6,672 attended at Cashman Field for Little League Day.

Daniel Muno added two hits and a RBI for Las Vegas, which begins an eight-game road trip Monday at the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
